  • Shared Dreams

    When dreams come close together
    And whisper gentle thoughts
    We tend to see reality
In ways that few are taught
    We're reaching for the answers
Like blind men in a storm
    To know again the feelings
We've known to be so warm
    Exuberance unbounding
    It takes your breath away
    The drama of the moment
And words we've yet to say
    Compunction stands behind us
    A figment of the past
    While dreams of times eternal
    Are visible at last
    –Robert Langley

    Dream With Me

To dream with you this evening
    As often times I do
To take a walk beside you
    Through places that we knew
    To orchestrate the feelings
    Composed of winds and strings
    To reach across the distance
    And still the music rings
I’ve dance with you a thousand times
    Yet each time is anew
    I’ve marveled at the person
    Who lives inside of you
Come out and play with me this day
    And smile amidst the sun
It's time to leave the past behind
    A new day has begun
    –Robert Langley

    It's All Right

Dry your eyes and cry no more
Your dreams await on nearing shores
A hand extends from someone near
To cast away your doubts and fears
It's time to start a life anew
With changes for the both of you
Cling not to the things you've had
Reminders of a time so sad
So rise about the mire and silt
And free yourself of fear and guilt
    Question not the things unknown
Just please accept the love you're shown
Trust in things you cannot see
And maybe you'll believe in me
So now before you here I stand
Just make a wish and take my hand
    –Robert Langley

    My Daughter

I look into your eyes I see you're mind
I look into your heart I see you're kind
The things you say with only thoughts
    Of people past forget-me-nots
And memories of a future soon to come
I look into your eyes I see past tears
I look into your heart I see your fears
The hopes and dreams you've always had
To live life happy, never sad
To have a rainbow for your very own
Like the views you've seen from mountaintops
    That now seem far away
Or some future night on a moon lit beach
    Of some enchanted bay
These things I say, you know are true
    Though yet to be realized
I’ve looked at you and listened to
    The you behind your eyes
    –Robert Langley

    Friends

I’m running to find you as fast as I can
To reach out and hold you and call you my friend
The dreams of a lifetime, the thoughts of a day
I wonder quite often if it'd be that way
I look to your memories and see your ideals
And think back in time and I know how it feels
So fear not fair lady for your journey is long
But I know that your heart and your spirit are strong
I know where you're going, I’ve seen where you've been
Just take hold my hand, and call me your friend
    –Robert Langley

    Remember Me

Dear I’ll see you one fine day
    Another place, another way
Hold me close deep in your heart
And in that way we'll never part
Do the things we liked to do
If not for me than just for you
Tell the kids I love them so
And show them all the love we've known
Smile and let your heart be free
Know you'll always be with me
Your love, it let me live again
And now anew you must begin
I’ll be there for the things you do
And always be a part of you
You'll see me with each song you sing
As the twinkle in your wedding ring
    –Robert Langley

    The Promise

The winds of time blow softly now
    Reminded of their silent vow
To watch the sons of man grow bold
    Discovering the thoughts of old
Return to dreams of future past
Awakening the stones of light at last
To tell the tale of days of yore
    And cities on forgotten shores
The path of light will lead you still
Beyond the realm of simple will
    To venture forth toward destiny
And free the secrets of the sea
    –Robert Langley

    Hands of Time

To reach across the bounds of time
To know again your touch sublime
    Glistening palaces of brilliant white
Illuminate the darkness of the night
Your hand in mine from times of old
    And memories of thoughts untold
Kept apart by winds and sand
Til journeys to a foreign land
To set aside your self at last
And feel the feelings of the past
As time grew short, the music played
The moments passed, the feeling stayed
So walk with me inside your dreams
And know our love is what it seems
    Picture scenes from far away
And know we'll meet another day

    The Chains That Bind

Cast away the chains that bind
Free the essence of your mind
Find the strength within your heart
To hold the love while we're apart
Ask not why it must be so
There's so much time, so much to know
Believe with your heart and not your mind
There's so much out there you will find
Trust the thoughts you don't believe
The truth that's there will not deceive
Things aren't what you thought they'd be
We're out of place, but wait and see
The time is soon to dream again
    And reminisce about what's been
For in your mind you'll find a land
Where we're together, hand in hand
