Funeral Program Template: How To Insert A Photo in Word 2007 & 2010

Jun 28th 2018

This video is from our video tutorials library that demonstrates how to properly insert a photo into a shape box using Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010. You can use this procedure to insert the front cover photo or any photo within the pages of the template itself. We have used our single fold funeral programs template called "Peace" in this demonstration.

Many people attempt to "cut and paste" the photo into Word. We do not recommend you do this as it will cause instability within your document and could mess up your layout. Resist the temptation to do so and follow the procedure below:

Open up your template. Select the "place your photo here" text by highlighting it and hitting delete on your keyboard to remove.

Click on the photo box to select and make sure your cursor is not blinking in the center of the photo box. If it is, click again on the perimeter of the photo box so it's selected by not with a cursor blinking in the center of it.

Go to the Format tab. Choose Shape Fill pull down and select Picture then find your photo on your computer.

Click OK all the way out of the popup menus.

Your photo should now be contained within the photo shape box. At this point, you can now move it around or shape the box so that the photo appears proportioned.

Here is a video to demonstrate how its done visually and what we consider to be a fool-proof procedure on inserting photos into your template. Let us know if you have any questions or how this works for you!
